제목 Residual Stresses and Warpage ReversalPhenomena (WRP) of Film Insert Molded Parts
초록 Film insert molding (FIM) is frequently used to generate a specific surface finish. Hot molten polymer is injected into the mold cavity after a preformed film is attached to one of the mold walls. Surface quality of the molded parts can be improved by the unique one step process without additional post-processing such as screen printing or spray painting. However, the film insert injection molding may cause severe residual stresses. Considerable viscoelastic deformation is generated by the residual stresses in the FIM part after ejection. Three dimensional flow and structural analyses were carried out for FIM procedures in order to calculate residual stresses and to evaluate thermo-viscoelastic deformation of the FIM specimens. Warpage and viscoelastic deformation of the FIM specimens were predicted and compared with experimental results in order to understand effects of thickness, annealing treatment, and various processing factors.
