Air pollution due to increased utilization of fossil fuel is the biggest problem related to human health and environmental issue. Thus, the solid-state gas sensor with IoT (Internet of things) device has attracted much attention to track the primary air pollutants such as CO2, SO2 and NO2. However, it is hard to discriminate these acidic gases due to their similar chemical and electrical properties. Here, we fabricated amine functional polymer/CNT sensors with controlled the amine moiety. While the primary and secondary amine could interact with all acidic gases including CO2, however, tertiary amine has less interaction with CO2. Due to the different gas interaction, the CNT channel wrapping with polyethylenimine (PEI) and methylated PEI consisting solely tertiary amine discriminated acidic gases at low concentration. In our knowledge, this is the first works on solid-state gas sensor for perfect discrimination of primary air pollutants |
