제목 Nafion/PVA blend ion exchange membrane for Vanadium Redox Flow Battery
초록 Poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) is hydrophilic linear polymer, that is water-soluble and non-toxic with excellent mechanical properties. In order to increase viscosity of Nafion solution for manufacturing process, the Nafion solution was blended with PVA aqueous solution. So as not to dissolve in water, the use of sulfosuccinic acid(SSA) as a crosslinking agent increases ion conductivity and water uptake. SSA have sulfonic acid group(-SO3H). Crosslinked Nafion/PVA membrane are fabricated by solution casting and annealing. In order to have more interaction between the hydroxyl groups in PVA and the sulfonic acid groups in Nafion. Impedance, ionic exchange capacity and crossover of the membrane are measured for application to the Vanadium Redox Flow Battery(VRFB).
