제목 Non-covalent functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes for polycabonate nanocomposites
초록 To enhance the dispersion properties of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) in polymer matrix, the surface of MWNTs have been chemically modified by either covalent or non-covalent method. Pyrene moieties having similar chemical structures with polycabonate were synthesized and used to functionalize the surface of MWNTs via non-covalent method. It can be expected the π-π interaction of pyrene with MWNTs and the better compatibility of pyrene moieties with polycabonate due to the chemical structures. Non-covalent functionalization of MWNTs was conducted by ultrasonication and the D/G band ratios of MWNTs were not changed after functionalization in Raman spectroscopy. Polycabonate/functionalized MWNT nanacomposite films were prepared by solvent-casting and we could observe the uniform dispersion of modified MWNTs in polycarbonate matrix by transmission electron microscopy.
