Mesoporous carbon nanoparticle (MCN) has been studied as electrode materials due to their attractive characteristics such as high surface area and high conductivity. Diverse porous nanomaterials have been utilized as a template to improve the porosity and surface area of MCN, which significantly affect the performance of the electrode. However, having the high dependence on the features of the templates, there is no sufficient research on the relationships between the characteristics of synthesized MCN based on the porous template and its various pore size. Herein, we prepared MCN using porous silica templates with a various pore size (2 - 28 nm) and investigated the performance of MCN to the cathodes of the Li-S battery. We confirm that 1) the surface area, pore size and pore volume of MCN were affected by the alteration of pore size of templates and 2) the efficiency of the Li-S batteries was also changed depending on the morphology of MCNs. |
