제목 | Enhanced activation of Pt/C electrocatalyst for PEMFC via N-functionalization of carbon support |
초록 | Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), due to its slow and complex reaction kinetics compared to hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR), is considered as the performance-limiting step in PEMFC. A wide range of studies has thus been studied to improve PEMFC performance by modifying ORR catalyst structure and composition. N-functionalized carbon is known to possess high affinity with metal precursors. In this study, we have functionalized nitrogen on carbon support to use as an anchor site for Platinum loading to achieve high dispersion. Thereby synthesized Pt/N-C catalyst was expected to show enhanced performance in ORR. TEM and TGA analysis was performed to observe the morphology and composition of the synthesized catalyst. Half-cell test was conducted to confirm the enhanced ORR activity of the catalyst. The catalyst was also applied to full cell to test the ORR activity versus conventional Pt/C catalysts on a real-life operating condition. |
