Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is a significant electrocatalytic process in metal-air batteries and fuel cells, however, its reaction kinetics is very sluggish. Hence, it is of great importance to develop an effective electrocatalyst capable of promoting ORR in alkaline conditions. Here, we report a simple solution approach for the synthesis of PdO nanoclusters on WO3 nanosheets as a electrocatalyst for the effective promotion of ORR. The as-prepared PdO hybrid exhibited higher half-wave potential, limited current density and greater durability than the commercial Pt/C catalyst in O2-saturated 0.1 M KOH solution. |
