제목 Electro-optical Properties of Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal containing Azobenzene moities  
초록 To investigate the effects of Azo compound on the electro-optical properties of polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC), 4-Hexyloxy-4-methoxy-azobenzene (Azo-S) was synthesized. The effects of Azo-S on the photopolymerization behavior, the phase separation process, the electro-optical properties, and the morphology of PDLC have been analyzed by Photo-DSC, relative conductivity, visible Spectrometer and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the concentration of Azo-S and the UV intensity were significant factors affecting the electro-optical properties and the morphology of PDLC. Upon UV irradiation to cause trans-cis photoisomerization of azobenzene, the PDLC became translucent.
