Electrical and rheological properties of polyamide 6,6 / multiwalled carbon nanotube composites |

CNT has exceptional properties and large aspect ratio make them excellent candidates as fillers in multifunctional nanocomposites. The preparation of polymeric nanocomposites filled with multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWNT) generally requires the nanotubes being homogeneously dispersed and compatible with the polymer matrix. In this work, the electrical properties and the rheological properties of polyamide 6,6/MWNT nanocomposites were investigated. MWNT’s surfaces were modified for better compatibility with PA66 matrix. PA66/MWNT nanocomposites containing different MWNT contents (0~4wt %) were prepared by melt mixing method. The dispersion of MWNT in PA66 matrix was observed by SEM. The electrical properties were characterized by 2 point probe method. The rheological properties were studied by ARES. As a result, PA66/MWNT nanocomposites had the electrical percolation threshold and showed solid-like behavior with increasing the MWNT content. |
