Polymer composite aerogels are an interesting class of materials because of the low density, high surface area, and diverse mass-transport capability. In this work, we mechanically robust aerogel composites with PEDOT:PSS and silanes, and used the aerogels for detecting acidity of aqueous solutions. The aerogels were obtained by blending the polymer dispersion and silanes, allowing hydrolysis and condensation reactions, and removing water by freeze drying we observed that the aerogels were electrically conductive. The resistance changed under mechanical strain and warious chemical environments. |
