Monodisperse polypyrrole (PPy) nanospheres with five different diameters were fabricated via chemical oxidation polymerization .They were internalized into cells and transported to lysosome via endosome-network. Various cytotoxicity and innate immune response of PPy-treated cells were systematically investigated by viability assay, oxidative stress, apoptosis/necrosis, and expression of costimulatory molecules on the surface of cells. The PPy nanospheres show size-dependent cellular uptake and cytotoxicity. |
