Anodic performance of YSZ-Ni1-xFex depending on the Fe-contents for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells |

We have investigated on YSZ-Ni1-xFex as an anode material of solid oxide fuel cells. The electrochemical performance could be enhanced by increasing the electrical conductivity, we synthesized Ni1-xFex by hydrazine reduction method. Structural and electrical analyses of synthesized materials were performed by using field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. In XRD analysis, we verified Fe atoms are well-substitute onto Ni-site because of additional Fe-peaks were not observed. Also, we could observed higher electrical conductivity of Ni-Fe. Especially, carbon-deposition rate is very important factor in terms of long-term stability of SOFCs under operation, lower carbon-deposition rate of YSZ-Ni0.95Fe0.05 cermet exhibited than YSZ-Ni cermet. Also, the electrical characteristics of synthesized Ni1-xFex cermet was explained by XPS analysis. |
