Supercritical CO2 Exfoliation Technique for Synthesis of NGPs: Condition Optimization and Characterization |

Nano graphene platelets (NGPs) are carbon nanofillers consisted of mono- to few-layer graphene sheets with thickness less than about 100 nm. NGPs can be obtained through graphite exfoliation methods. In this study, we reported the supercritical CO2 (scCO2) exfoliation technique is a way for the synthesis of NGPs. In the various supercritical and subcritical conditions, the exfoliated NGPs were characterized by measuring the thickness and lateral size. On the basis of the results, we established the optimum reaction condition. The structured database for NGP synthesis is expected to provide useful helps for mass production of NGPs via the scCO2 exfoliation technique. |
