제목 Effect of Impact Modifiers on the mechanical properties of Toughened Nylon6 nanocomposite
초록 Nylon6 nanocomposite realized superior mechanical properties over its conventional counterparts such as Nylon6 and Nylon66. Especially, Nylon6 nanocomposite has an excellent performance in Flexural Modulus(FM) and Heat Distortion Temperature(HDT). So we had an interest to do a toughening of Nylon6 nanocomposite using twin screw extruder. Impact modifiers are composed of MA-g-Metallocene PE, MA-g-SEBS, MA-g-LLDPE and Metallocene PE. The mechanical properties of toughened Nylon6 nanocomposites are different from the types of impact modifiers. The points to be considered are density of impact modifiers, maleic anhydride grafting yield and styrene contents. High MA grafted impact modifers give a better compatibility with Nylon6 nanocomposite but results in a dramatically increased viscosity which is not favorable to make injection molded parts. Finally we could get an new material with a better stiffness/toughness balance, higher HDT and excellent chemical resistance over than Polycarbonate alloys and MPPOs.
