Controlling ion transport is important in energy devices such as fuel cell and redox flow battery. Especially, separators used for vanadium redox flow battery (VFB) should have permselectivity of cations to avoid the undesirable cross-over and achieve high proton conductivity. Here, we investigated permeability of different cations through sulfonated nanoporous membranes with various pore size and ionic group density. Synthesis, characterization, and permeability behavior of the sulfonated nanoporous membranes will be discussed in detail. |
