제목 Effects of Pore Structures on VOC Absorption Behaviors of Activated Carbons by Polymeric Precursor
초록 In this study, the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) absorption with polymer based activated carbon (ACs) with different surface areas was investigated. Activated carbons were prepared for VOCs absorption by using polymeric precursor under various activation conditions. The surface morphologies and structural characteristics of activated carbons were observed by SEM and XRD, respectively. The N2 adsorption isotherm characteristics at 77K were confirmed by BET and DR equations. From the results, specific surface areas and total pore volume of the porous carbon were determined as 1200~2400 m2/g and 0.53~1.22 cm3/g, respectively. The VOCs absorption characteristics depend on the pore properties of the AC. The VOCs adsorption indicates that AC, with an appropriate surface area, could be utilized in controlling VOCs in indoor air.
