제목 Effect of Side Chain Length on Wetting Properties of Amphiphilic Comb-Like Poly(oxyethylene)s
초록 In this study, it is found that the wettabilities of amphiphilic comb-like poly(oxyethylene) surfaces with alkyl sulfonyl side chains widely change as the side chain length is varied. Especially in specific range of side chain length, stick-slip behaviors are observed that indicate the existence of interaction with the water and the surfaces, which results in water absorption. To investigate the mechanisms and factors which might control the stick-slip behaviors, a series of systematic experiments has designed. In addition, these surfaces were characterized using water contact angle measurement, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), 2-dimensional grazing incidence wide angle X-ray diffraction (2-d GIWAXD) measurement and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
