Preparation and characterization of low ionic waterborne acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive |

The manufacture of pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes is being shifted from organic solvent systems to aqueous latices in order to reduce air pollution and fire hazard, as well as eliminate the rising expense of organic solvents. In this study, low ionic waterborne acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) were prepared by emulsion polymerization. We evaluated thermal properties and their mechanical properties. The adhesion performances of low ionic waterborne acrylic PSA were determined using standard measurements of peel strength and probe tack. |
