Highly Efficient Deep-Blue Organic Light Emitting Diodes : Carbazole - Substituted quinoline moieties. |

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in developing blue organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) with high efficiency, deep blue color, and long operational lifetime. Deep blue color is defined Commission Internationale d’ Eclairage (CIEx,y) coordinates of x ~0.15 and y ~0.15. Still now, formal reports with full disclosure on deep blue OLED dopant/host materials and devices are rare and sketchy. In this article, we describe a facile synthesis of a new blue-emitting materials, namely 9-ethyl-3-(4-phenylquinolin-2-yl)-9H-carbazole(Cz-H-qui),9-ethyl-3-(4-(4-methoxy-phenyl)quinolin-2-yl)-9H-carbazole (Cz-MeO-qui), 4-(2-(9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl) quinolin-4-yl) benzo-nitrile (Cz-CN-qui). These new blue-emitting chemical structures consisted of carbazole and substituted quinoline moieties. In this study, we report the synthesis, characterization, and investigation of photophysics, electrochemistry, and EL of new blue-emitting materials. |
