A number of polyfluorene (PF) polymers and their derivatives have been studied since poly(9,9-di-n-hexylfluorene) (PDHF) was first reported as a blue-light emitting polymer. The interest in these polymers arose because they show highly efficient photoluminescence (PL) and electroluminescence (EL), excellent thermal and oxidative stability, and good solubility in common organic solvents. In this study, a series of PF copolymers including phenothiazine moiety was synthesized in order to improve charge-transporting ability. Copolymers of 2,7-dibromo-9,9-bis(2’-ethylhexyl) fluorene (BEHF) and 3,7-dibromo-10-(2’-ethylhexyl)-phenothiazine (EHPT) were synthesized through Yamamoto coupling reaction. Synthesis and light-emitting properties of poly(BEHF-co-EHPT)s will be described. |
