We have fabricated polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-based nanocomposites and thin films incorporating carbon nanomaterials (CNs) such as carbon nanotube and graphene by using solution-casting and spin-coating, respectively. The morphological features of the nanocomposites and thin films were characterized by using electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. The optical transparency of the PDMS/CN thin films was characterized with aid of UV-Vis spectroscopy. The electrical properties of the nanocomposites and thin films was characterized as functions of the CN content and applied voltage. Furthermore, we demonstrated the electric heating behavior of the PDMS/CN nanocomposites and thin films in aspects of temperature response rapidity, maximum temperature, and electric power efficiency at different applied voltages. |
