In this work, ε-caprolactone (CL) and functionalized lactide (fLA) monomers were randomly copolymerized to prepare MPEG-b-(PCL-ran-PfLA) diblock copolymers. The diblock copolymers were further derivatized with benzyl (-OBz), hydroxyl (-OH), or carboxylic acid (-COOH) groups. Finally, this study was to directly attach protein to diblock copolymer by a chemical conjugation method and to investigate whether the bound protein maintained bioactivity. The chemical structure of diblock copolymer was identified using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Molecular weight distributions of diblock copolymer were measured using gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The rheological properties of diblock copolymer solutions were measured using rheometer. |
