Noble metal nanocrystals with controlled size and shape have attracted wide attention in recent years due to the strong correlations between the size and shape of a nanocrystal. This interest has also been greatly heightened by the technological applications of these nanocrystals in various fields including catalysis, sensing, imaging, and biomedicine. Various research groups have produced Ag nanostructures by natural reducing agents like tea, coffee, various plant extracts, and polysaccharides. But, the yield or product they obtained was polydispersed, which is not practical for commercial purposes. in this study, mono dispersed shape-controlled Ag nanocrystals were synthesized by using natural reducing agents and trace amounts of capping agents like PVP, citrate etc. which will cause no harm to environment in neglible amounts. The samples were characterized by the means of TEM, SEM, PSA and UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy. |
