제목 Using silver-coated silica as an antibacterial water filtering material
초록 Silica is first modified with 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane to graft amino functional group onto its surface. Silver ion is loaded onto surface of modified silica and reduced to silver crystal by adding NaBH4. The presence of silver particles as well as structure of material is confirmed by SEM, XRD. Test tube tests shows that more than 99% of E. coli is inhibited after 10 min contacting with material. Antibacterial action was also checked by flow test at rate 0.5 L/min. The count of E. coli in output water is reduced more than 90% compare to input water which had a bacterial load of 105 CFU (colony-forming units).
