In this work, the benzylquinoxalinium hexafluoroanti-monate (BQH) was used as a latent cationic catalyst for diglycidiyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA). After the thermal curing, the electron beam was employed of BQH/DGEBA system for the postcuring in order to enhance thermal and mechanical properties of the epoxy resins. The influence of electron beam dose on thermal and mechanical properties was investigated. The resins were cured in steps of 100 kGy(i.e.,50 kGy/pass) to a total dose of 600 kGy. The thermal properties were monitored by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differencial scanning calorymeter (DSC). Also, the critical stress intensity factor (KIC) of the specimens was obtained to study the mechanical interfacial properties. |
