제목 Preparation and Magnetoresponsive Property of Polystyrene/Magnetite Hybrid Microspheres
초록 Magnetic hybrid microspheres were prepared using polystyrene and magnetite for preparation of the magnetorheological (MR) fluid. The magnetite particle was synthesized by a co-precipitation method using a ferrous and ferric ionic aqueous solution with an oleic acid as a stabilizer. The magnetic polystyrene hybrid was then prepared by a suspension polymerization of styrene in the presence of magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles. The magnetite nanoparticles can be well dispersed in styrene monomer because of the oleic acid on surface of magnetite. The magnetic hybrids microspheres were confirmed by examining their chemical and crystal structure using FT-IR and XRD. The morphology and internal structure of composite were also observed via SEM. Furthermore the MR characteristics of the composite particle suspensions were investigated via a rotational rheometer by precisely controlling the magnetic field strength, exhibiting typical Bingham fluid behaviour.
