Latest two models proposed by Marriott and Pan, were compared to interpret gas separations in hollow-fiber modules. The two models were both solved by an efficient numerical solution procedure, that is, orthogonal collocation on finite element method (OCFEM) in an external process simulator, gPROMS, which is based on the equation-oriented approach. The adequacy of the two models was investigated by comparing the calculated profiles of pressure, concentration and driving force along the direction of module length on both residue and permeate sides with published experimental data for the separation of noncondensable gases.
