Synthesis and characterization of Iridium complexes for Orgaic electroluminescent applications |

Recently, intensive research has been conducted on the development of organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs). But, the fluorescence-based light emitting device efficiencies are limited to an external quantum efficiency of 25%. Hence, in recent years much attention has focused on phosphorescent materials because of achieving higher internal quantum efficiency. Ir(Ⅲ) complexs are recognized as excellent phosphorescent materials, because they can give an internal quantum efficiency of nearly 100% leading to higher external quantum efficiency in OLEDs. In this study, we report the synthesis of carbazole-quinoline-based Iridium(Ⅲ) complexes. The optical and electronic properties of these complexes are studied. OLED devices will be fabricated by doping these complexes in emitting layer structures. |
