제목 Adsorptive removal of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) and 1,3,5-trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX) at low concentration from energetic material wastewater
초록 Adsorptive removal of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) and 1,3,5-trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX) under 3ppm from energetic material wastewater was carried out using activated carbon, strong basic anion-exchange resin, silica-gel, and zeolite 13X. Activated carbon showed the best performance in terms of adsorption equilibrium and adsorption rate. Strong basic anion-exchange resin showed relatively a good performance for TNT adsorption while the removal capacity of RDX was small. Silica-gel and zeolite 13X, which are hydrophilic adsorbents, had the lowest adsorption capacity because it has higher adsorption affinity for water molecules compared to TNT or RDX. The concentration of 3 ppm TNT could be successfully decreased to 10 ppb by using activated carbon.
