Micellization of poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(fluorooctyl methacrylate) diblock copolymers in solutions |
초록 |
Well-defined block copolymers consisting of a hydrophilic polyethylene oxide (PEO) block and semifluorinated polyfluorooctyl methacrylate (PFOMA) block were synthesized with controlled molecular weight. PEG is hydrophilic as well as lipophilic and PFOMA is lipophobic, indicating amphiphilicity of PEG and amphiphobicity of PFOMA. The block copolymers formed stable micelles where PEO is the shell and PFOMA is the core in both water and chloroform. The micellar morphology in chloroform, which were spin-coated on TEM grid changed from normal sphere to rod by increasing the ratio of PFOMA to PEO block length. The PEO5K-b-PFOMA5K forms spherical shape while PEO5K-b-PFOMA13K forms meandering cylinders. The domain structures were compared with those of films spin-coated from homogeneous block copolymer solution in mixed solvent of chloroform and F-113. |
