제목 Bio-inspired polydopamine capsule for delivery of nitric oxide
초록 The paramount biological roles of nitric oxide (NO), such as angiogenesis, apoptosis, immune response, neurotransmission, and cardiovascular homeostasis, have encouraged many researchers to develop diverse NO-delivery systems. However, the real application of NO-based drugs to the clinical therapy is still far-off. Thus, one of the important issues in biomedical application of NO is the development of useful NO-delivery system. Herein, we describe a bio-inspired polydopamine (pDA) capsule-based NO delivery platform for echogenic diagnosis, antibacterial application or anticancer therapy. The pDA capsule is developed by the spontaneous oxidative polymerization of a dopamine onto silica (SiO2) particles, followed by removal of the template particles. To develop the pDA-NO capsule, diazeniumdiolates is formed onto the pDA film layers. The possibility of pDA-NO capsule on bioapplication has been under way.
