In the synthesis of periodic mesoporous ethane-silica and benzene-silica using poly(ethylene oxide)-containing non-ionic triblock copolymers, the effect of adding aluminum salts was investigated to obtain mesoporous materials with superior properties. PEO–PLGA–PEO and P123 PEO–PPO–PEO triblock copolymer were used as templates, and sodium aluminate as an auxiliary aluminnum salt. The 2D hexagonal (p6m) ethane-PMOs were observed to have pore diameter increased to 9.0 nm, and the BET surface area and the pore volume were also increased to 1,800 m2g-1 and 2.8 cm3g-1, respectively, as the relative adding amount of sodium aluminate was increased to 30 mol%. In the preparation of the benzene-PMOs, the mixed framework wall containing crystalline lattice phases was observed through the 2D WAXS diffraction and the TEM images, which suggest the π-π attraction force between benzene moieties was strengthened by aluminum sources. |
