Organic semiconductor materials have been extensively studied owing to low price, their easy structural modifications and turnable optical properties. Polyaromatics such as coronene, perylene and n-type materials have been attacted oxing to inherent self-assembled alignment or large electron affinity. The introduction of electron – withdrawing imide groups to coronene forms an n-type semiconductor material with liquid crystalline self-assembly characteristics. Coronene bisimide has planar and aromatic core and exhibits high photostability, high fluorescent. A coronene bisimide was synthesized through a thermal oxidative cyclo addition of a perylene diimide and 1,2,4-traszoline-3,5-dione. Several polyimides with a perylene unit are successfully transformed to coronene based polyimides under the similar thermal reaction condition. |
