Because of their potential application in flat-panel displays and solid - state lighting, multi-color polymer light-emitting diodes (MPLEDs) have received great attention. A variety of approaches have been proposed for the realization of multi-color emission in PLEDs. We studied multi-color emitted hyperbranched polymers (HPs) via incorpor-ating fluorophores into polymer chain. These polymers have a polybenzothiadiazole backbone containing green- and red- emitting exciton trap sites. We introduced exciton migration phenomenon for realization of multicolor emission. Accordingly, we controlled feed ratios of 2,1,3-befnzothiadiazole as green emitting site and 4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole as red emitting site. Alkoxy side chain on phenylene backbone played a role to enhance the solubility of HPs. Finally, we investigated exciton migration with photoluminescence spectrum of thin film that is prepared to mix HPs with PMMA. |
