Optical transmittance of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and PVDF copolymer thin film with 11.30 and 16.99 mol% hexafluoropropylene (HFP) have been investigated on the basis of microstructure distribution, molecular conformation, morphology, and transmittance in UV-Vis wavelength range. To observe morphology and corresponding optical transmittance of 1μm film, spin-coated films on slide glass were crystallized by slow cooling from 200 ℃. Compared to the corresponding PVDF film, copolymer with 11.30 mol% HFP changes the crystalline phase to amorphous phase. It was found that typical sperulites and many grain observed in PVDF film don’t appear in copolymer. Furthermore, copolymer film with 16.99 mol% HFP appeared flat roughness such as amorphous polymer film. Consequently, optical transmittance of copolymer film was decreased by relatively low light scattering in compared of PVDF film. |
