Vanadium dioxide (VO2) is a promising material in the development of thermally and electrically sensitive devices due to its first-order reversible metal‐insulator transition (MIT) at 68° C. In this work, VO2(B) and VO2(M1) nanoparticles have been synthesized by the hydrothermal method with the combination of V2O5 and oxalic acid. First, the VO2(B) nanoparticles were successfully prepared. Subsequently, the VO2(B) nanoparticles were converted into VO2(M1) nanoparticles at high temperatures in an argon atmosphere. The phases could be confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses. Morphology, size, crystal structure, and energy band gap of the nanoparticles were characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), XRD method, Raman spectroscopy, and Ultraviolet-Visible-near-IR (UV-Vis-NIR) spectroscopy. |
