Synthesis of novel bio-elastomer consisting of poly(styrene-butadiene) and waste vegetable oil by living anionic polymerization |
초록 |
Abstract: A novel bio-elastomer consisting of poly(styrene-butadiene) and waste vegetable oil was prepared by living anionic polymerization. The reaction started from the formation of poly(styrene-butadienyl)lithium, and the waste vegetable oil was added before termination step. This led to the formation of the chain end oil functionalized poly(styrene-butadiene). The micro-structures of poly(styrene-butadiene) bio-elastomers were analyzed by NMR and FTIR spectroscopy. The molecular weights and molecular weight distributions of poly(styrene-butadiene) bio-elastomers were measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The mechanical properties of poly(styrene-butadiene) bio-elastomers were compared with those of the normal poly(styrene-butadiene). Interestingly, the result showed that the mechanical properties of poly(styrene-butadiene) bio-elastomers were superior to those of normal poly(styrene-butadiene). |
