In recent years, hairy polymer particles have attracted great interest due to their potential applications, such as magnetic imaging probes, sensing materials, colloidal crystals, and catalysts. Their properties can be controlled by changing the type of hairy chains. In this study, monodisperse water-dispersible hairy PAN particles were prepared for the first time via dispersion polymerization of acrylonitrile using poly (N-vinyl pyrrolidone)-cobalt complex in an aqueous system. The resulting water-dispersible PAN nanoparticles were characterized using SEM, TEM, WAXD, and XPS. |
