For Quantum Dot Sensitized Solar Cells(QDSSCs), Quantum Dots(QDs) have outstanding opto-electronic properties due to the controlling of the absorption spectrum by changing their size. In order to improve photon-to-electron conversion efficiency(IPCE) improving the separation of photoexcited electrons and photoexcited holes. For the better injection rate and absorption visible region, type II core/shell quantum dot concept was offered. The valence and conduction bands in the core are higher than in the shell. As a result, hole is mostly confined to the core, while the electron is mostly confined to the shell. Type II QDs are expected to have spatial electron hole pair separation character as sensitizers in QDSSCs. CdTe/CdSe type II core/shell QDs were utilized for QDSSCs which have high light harvesting efficiency(LHE) and IPCE. |
