Viologen modified TiO2 nanotube layers for fast switching electrochromic devices |

We report electrochromic properties of a viologen-modified TiO2 nanotube layers The TiO2 nanotube layers was fabricated by an electrochemical anodization on Ti foil and then modified with viologen molecules. The structural and the electrochemical properties of pure TiO2 and viologen modified TiO2 were investigated. The viologen modified TiO2 nanotubes showed fast switching speed and high color contrast. The improved performance of the TiO2 layers can be attributed to the large surface area and high crystalline and good electron transport properties of the TiO2 nanotube layers. |
