Synthesis of a novel alkoxy naphthalene Substituted anthradithiophene based copolymer for Organic Thin Film Transistors |

We have synthesized a novel polymer, alkoxy naphthalene substituted anthradithiophene conjugated polymer, via Suzuki coupling polymerization. The newly designed copolymer is expected to have good mopology and charge carrier mobility due to the anthradithiophene and alkoxy naphthalene with a planar π-π system. Furthermore, long alkyl groups on the naphthalene increase the π-π stacking characteristics through easy interdigitation and can increase the solubility in the common organic solvents such as chloroform, dichlorobenzene, toluene, and THF. The synthesized copolymer was characterized by 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The thermal properties were determined by thermogravimetry analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Electrochemical and optical properties of copolymer were studied by UV-visible, photoluminescence (PL) and cyclic voltammeter (CV) in solution and film. |
