The use of organic solar cells seems to be advantageous with respect to low cost, ease of fabrication but also process some disadvantages, such low power conversion efficiency and low optical stability. We attempted to synthesize dibutyl ProDOT-based polymers. The resulting polymers were characterized using DSC, TGA, CV, UV-vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and NMR. Energy levels of the HOMO and LUMO of the polymer were also estimated. The polymers were employed as electron donors along with PCBM as an electron acceptor in fabrication of photovoltaic devices. The experimental results will be presented in detail. |
