In this study, ZnO thin films were prepared by using ZnO nanoparticles with controlled size and shape. Firstly, zinc acetate dihydrate (Zn salt) and potassium hydroxide (KOH) were utilized as starting materials for the synthesis of nano-sized ZnO particles in methanol. Also, water was added in order to control the morphology of ZnO nanocrystals from spherical particles to rods. Secondly, the synthesized particles were dispersed in 1-butanol using methoxyethoxyacetic acid (MEA), ethanolamine (EA), or pyridine as a dispersion stabilizer. The effects of kind and amount of dispersant on the dispersion stability were studied. Finally, the coating of prepared ZnO dispersions on the glass substrate was performed through spin coating process. To fabricate the dense film, Zn salt solution was coated onto the formed ZnO layer. The products were analyzed by using FE-SEM, TEM, AFM, DLS, and UV-Vis spectrophotometer. |
