Effects of Sn promoter on the highly ordered mesoporous Co3O4-Al2O3 bimetal oxides, were investigated for Fischer–Tropsch synthesis (FTS) reaction to verify the increased selectivity of desired hydrocarbons. The characterization results revealed that the electronic properties and surface distributions of Co nanoparticles in the Co3O4-Al2O3 bimetal oxides were significantly changed by Sn addition with an optimal content below 0.5wt%Sn, which significantly suppressed water gas shift reaction activity with a lower CO2 formation. However, the higher content of Sn promoter on the Co3O4-Al2O3 bimetal oxide led to decreasing reaction rate due to the selective blockages of active Co sites. |
