Various metals (W, Mo, and La) were added to the Ce/Ti to improve the performance of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with NH3. The correlation between the physicochemical properties of Ce/Me/Ti catalysts and their catalytic activity were investigated. Among them, tungsten-doped Ce/Ti catalyst showed the most enhanced activity. Different Ce3+ fractions were observed for Ce/Me/Ti catalysts. As the catalytic activity increased at low temperatures, the Ce3+ fraction was higher. Br∅nsted acid sites of Ce/W/Ti appeared to be more abundant than Ce/Ti due to thd addition of tungsten. Furthermore, Ce/W/Ti catalyst exhibited an enhanced resistance to SO2-induced deactivation relative to Ce/Ti. Thus, the Ce/W/Ti catalyst, which is non-vanadium-based catalyst, exhibits improved SCR activity due to addition of tungsten. |
