제목 Drug Delivery System Based on Poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether/Poly(ε-caprolactone) Star-shaped Block Copolymers
초록 Micelles from amphiphilic block copolymers are of great interest as promising drug carriers and have been studied extensively. Amphiphilic star-shaped block copolymers composed of poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether (MPEG) and poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) were synthesized by coupling reaction of diblock copolymer (MPEG-b-PCL). Critical micelle concentration (CMC) and size distribution of micelle were determined by Fluorescence Spectroscopy and Dynamic Light Scattering. The number of chain of star-shaped block copolymers participated in the forming micelle was higher than that of diblock copolymers in dilute solution. Pyrene as a typical model drug was incorporated into the hydrophobic inner core of these micelles. Drug loading efficiency (DLE) of star-shaped block copolymers with that of the diblock copolymers was compared. DLE of star-shaped block copolymers showed a marked increase over that of diblock copolymers. The micelle size and DLE were changed with the hydrophobic chain length. The controlled in vitro release behavior showed sustained release characteristics.
