The piezocapacitive pressure sensor shows an increase in capacitance with a decrease in thickness by external pressure. Most of polymer-based piezocapacitive sensors are made of elastic microcellular polyureathane foam sheet. The piezoelectric pressure sensors made of poled PVDF are suited for dynamic pressure measurement, whereas piezocapacitive sensors can measure both static and dynamic pressure. However, these piezocapacitive pressure sensors have disadvantages of large hysteresis in cyclic capacitance-pressure curves and thick thickness. So, in this work, we prepared piezocapacitive pressure sensors which are very thin, robust, and low hysteresis using nanofiber web through electrospinning of polyurethane with low compression set value and high resilience, characterized their piezocapacitive properties, and tested the feasibility of applying them to smart insoles.
