제목 Electrospun Conjugated Nanofibers for Photovoltaic Cell Application
초록 Power conversion efficiencies of organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells based on conjugated polymers are very low compared to that of silicon based solar cell. One reason of the low efficiency is that the random morphology of the cell prohibits the successful charge transportation to both electrodes. Electrospinning is a powerful method to produce continuous polymer nanofibers with high aspect ratio. It is believed that this high aspect ratio guarantees the charge transport pathway to be formed effectively to each electrode. However, the as-spun nanofibers are generally not thin enough to dissociate excitons. In this work, thin nanofibers of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) were prepared and used for an OPV consisting of P3HT nanofibers as electron donor and TiO2 nanofibers as electron acceptor. This full electrospun active layer turned out efficiently dissociate excitons, and improve the charge transportation to both electrodes.
