Lithium metal is one of the most promising anode materials for next-generation lithium batteries due to its high specific capacity and low reduction potential. For this reason, lithium metal batteries (LMBs) have attracted more attentions for various applications such as electric vehicles and large-scale energy storage systems. However, the full utilization of lithium metal as an anode for commercial cells is not still realized due to the critical problems such as dendritic formation and growth of lithium. The high propensity of lithium dendrite during cycling of LMBs is related to inhomogeneity on the lithium surface layer. Herein, we report an efficient and easy-to-process interlayer which suppress lithium dendrite growth. It is demonstrated that the uniform shape of mesh interlayer effectively eliminates the surface inhomogeneity on the lithium surface. In this respect, the role of coated mesh is compared and investigated by various analysis techniques. |
