제목 Recovery process for 2,3-Butanediol from fermentation broth
초록 2,3-Butanediol, known as 2,3-butylene glycol (2,3-BD), is a precious chemical feedstock because of its application as a solvent, a liquid fuel, and a precursor of many synthetic polymers and resins. A wide variety of chemicals can also be easily arranged from 2,3-butanediol. As its low concentration in fermentation broth with high boiling point (180°C) make more challenging to recover 2,3-Butanediol. In addition, 90 wt% of fermentation broth is water, removing water still retain inherent problems such as high energy costs and high solution consuming. This study compares results depending on different separation methods that target purity is 99% of mole fraction, 90% recovery.
